New Cross-Border Commissioner Meets with Goondiwindi Chamber

The newly appointed Queensland Cross-Border Commissioner, Ian Leavers, held a productive meeting with Goondiwindi Chamber President Peter Travers to discuss pressing local issues. Topics covered included crime rates and their impact on the community, tourism and business challenges, the cost of upgrading security and insurance, the use of NSW Sports vouchers in Queensland, dual-state licensing requirements for construction workers, participation in events and grants programs, cross-border access to TAFE training, fishing licenses and regulations.

Mr. Leavers expressed his commitment to addressing these concerns and promised to follow up with further information. He also praised Goondiwindi for making him feel welcome and commented what a beautiful and friendly place it is.
